student job 8 - 15 hours / week

The rice team is looking for a student as "Studentische Hilfskraft (SHK) or Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft with bachelor degree (WHB)“ to take care of  rice plants in the greenhouse. Workload would be at least 8h per week, working times are flexible. Main tasks would be the fertilization of the plants, harvesting panicles and seeds, transplanting of seedlings into soil and seed stock organisation.

In addition, molecular laboratory work such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA extraction or sequencing are also possible tasks.

Biologic technic assistent

Biologic Technicians for the sensors and signaling research group

Requirements:

- General laboratory work (preparation of solutions, media, cultivation of microorganisms)

- Independent planning and production of transgenic organisms (bacteria, plants, yeast)

- Transfection and analysis of plant and animal cells

- Coordination of all plant cultivation and climate chambers (Arabidopsis)

- Analysis of calcium responses and (electrical) signals in plants with the help of sensors and electrophysiological Methods

- Excellent English

•    manage the project (Finances, Reports, Team)
•    coordinate our team with partners in Africa, India, Columbia, the Philippines, France and the US.
•    obtain FTO for family farmers
•    Develop efficient outreach activities 

Experience in project management and working with international agencies or NGOs are advantageous, a PhD essential. Excellent English is a must.
